Weather Policy


weatherpol4I’d like to explain our policy about weather.

 HATS® does not cancel events due to inclement weather. We certainly would not travel into the eye of a hurricane to go camping, but rain and wind do not stop us from spending the weekend together.


All year long, I am in communicationweatherpol1 with the various outfitters, ranch managers, and other personnel who facilitate our campouts. In most cases, I have worked personally with them for many years. They are “on the ground” at our camp locations and give me the best possible information for whether a campout needs to be moved or an adjustment made to the planned activities. They, in turn, are in close communication with other experts in their area about water conditions, safety warnings, etc. Working together, we make decisions with safety in mind. Safety is a high priority for HATS®.

We are asking for your trust and support as we use the best, most up-to-date information from the most knowledgeable people in the geographic areas involved.

 


 We believe that our girls have important lessons toweatherpol3 learn in situations like these. First, your safety is important. Second, life is not something you cancel when it rains. Our girls will be baffled when they get to college and see other girls who don’t go to class or other activities when it rains. They won’t understand girls who quickly give up when life throws them a challenge. They will have unshakable confidence in their ability to handle WHATEVER life puts in their path.

 

 

We ask that you have faith in our judgment about weather and safety questions. In return, we pledge to value your daughter’s safety as much as you do. HATS does not give refunds or forward payments for cancellations because of weather. If HATS cancels a campout due to weather we will then give refunds or forward payments to another campout.

 

 

Cancellation Policy


Cancellations must be made 14 days prior to event (campout) for full refund; 7 days prior to event for 50% refund; after 3 days prior to event, NO refund.

Payments may be forwarded to another event up to 1 day prior to event.

No Call, No show = No refund, No payment forwarding.
